Much awaiting good news of promotion for primary school teachers is coming out from the School Education Department, especially for Primary School Teachers.
Thousands of associate degree-holding teachers now can progress from PST (Primary School Teacher) to EST (Elementary School Teacher).
In the previous promotion system, there is no clear setup for the promotion of the primary school teachers although they have higher education degrees they are not able to get promotion from PST to EST.
To this aim, the School Education Department has issued a clarifying notice. Teachers with associate degrees were previously retired in the grade in which they were employed and were ineligible for promotion.

The Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) will now consider their situations when making judgments. The School Education Department’s most recent notification clarified the promotion policy, ensuring that associate degree teachers progress from PST to EST.
