Relief for Pakistani Electricity Consumers: 200-Unit Users to Benefit from New Policy

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has announced fixed charges for domestic electricity consumers.

The news of fixed charges on all domestic electricity consumers was circulating for some time and the government was formulating how to provide relief to the lower class of Pakistan who has lower consumption of electricity thus they announced that those using up to 200 units would not be charged.

Those using between 301 and 400 units will be charged Rs. 200 per month, while those using between 401 and 500 units will be charged Rs. 400 monthly.

Consumers using between 501 and 600 units will be charged Rs. 600 per month, and those using between 601 and 700 units will have to pay 1000.

These charges are part of NEPRA’s efforts to regulate electricity costs and ensure a fair billing system for all domestic users.
