Railway Fares Reduced By 50 % by Pakistan Railway

In light of the recent drop in diesel prices, the Pakistan Railways Department has announced considerable reductions in railway fares across all classes.

This will serve as great news for the people who prefer trains for traveling as the fares are substantially reduced. Now with these kinds of reliefs, the public of Pakistan will have a sigh of relief from the higher rates of inflation.

The formal notification of the fare decrease has been issued and is effective immediately.

The fee cut applies to rail travel of one to 200 kilometers for all classes of trains, benefiting travelers traveling shorter distances. The greatest significant decreases are noticed in the economy and AC classes.

According to the railway authority, economy class tickets on some lines have been slashed by up to 54%. For example, the minimum ticket for economy class on the Lahore to Rawalpindi route has been reduced from Rs 250 to Rs 100.

Similarly, the economy class cost for the Khyber Mail, which covers distances ranging from 1 to 130 kilometers, has been slashed from Rs 250 to Rs 100.

Passengers traveling in AC class will also benefit from huge savings, with tickets reduced by 40% across many routes.

This change will assist both everyday commuters and occasional passengers by lowering the cost of rail travel. The Railways Department notes that this fee cut is intended to pass on the advantages of lower fuel costs to the public, making train travel more affordable.

The railway officials in Lahore acknowledged that the introduction of these new prices began on Tuesday.

Passengers should visit the official Railways website for further information on individual price reductions and to plan their route. – INP
