The metrological department of Pakistan is predicting a severe heat wave across many parts of the country especially in Punjab. Many cities of the province will see temperature rises above 50 degrees during the upcoming weeks.
To protect student safety, the Punjab government has declared a seven-day holiday for all public and private schools in the state. The decision comes amid a severe heat wave warning issued by Pakistan’s Disaster Management Authority.
Now parents and guardians can a sigh of relief as the mercury rises day by day and young students are more susceptible to the harsh effects of heat waves.

According to a declaration from the Punjab government, all educational institutions would be closed from May 25 to May 31. Schools are free to conduct tests according to their timetables, as long as sufficient safeguards are taken to protect children from the blazing heat.
The Pakistan Disaster Management Authority has previously warned of a severe heatwave in several regions of the nation, forcing the Punjab government to take this precaution.
This measure is intended to protect students’ health and well-being, and the government has advised individuals to take the appropriate safeguards to ensure their safety during this time.
