In the last few days, the temperature in different districts of Punjab has reached above 40 for many days causing a heat wave in particular regions. Social media pressurizes the education department to change school timings So that the children can be saved from the scorching heat.
In response to the province’s increasing heat, the administration has announced a change in Punjab school timings. This development has been shared via a notice that is presently circulating on social media.
Revised Punjab School timings
The Literacy and Non-Formal Basic Education Department’s notice notes that the revised timings will take effect immediately and will last until October 15, 2024. According to the amended timetable, schools will run from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Monday through Saturday, with no breaks.
The announcement further specifies that the times might be altered at the district level to meet the individual needs of the target population. The various districts must update the Non-Formal Education Management Information System (NFEMIS) site with any modifications to school schedules.
This notification still misses official clarification of the Punjab School Education Department. So, the authenticity of this notification is still not a hundred percent.
