The latest update coming on the mobile phone registration services through the Device Identification Registration and Blocking System (DIRBS) won’t be accessible till April 21.
A technology called DIRBS is intended to detect mobile phones that are not compatible when using local mobile networks. This technology was built to combat the illegal smuggling of mobile phones in Pakistan through the borders.
On mobile networks, it automatically registers compatible devices and eventually disables non-compliant devices. PTA uses this service to ensure that the nation’s mobile networks are only used by devices that have been approved for use and are legal.
The need for DIRBS is very much on the cards due to the current economic and terror situation in Pakistan. It is helpful in increasing revenue and security situation by blocking Illegal devices operational in Pakistan.
The goal of DIRBS is to guarantee the robust expansion of Pakistan’s mobile device ecosystem. It guarantees that authorized devices are used on mobile networks.
Importing, utilizing, and expanding legal devices will protect mobile operators’ network resources, enhance security, and guarantee the protection of intellectual property rights in addition to providing customers with higher-quality mobile service.
