MS petrol and diesel prices are projected to decrease this week due to decrease in international crude oil prices. The recent decrease in oil prices is the primary due to the lower international prices.
According to a statement released by the finance ministry, petrol prices have been dropped by Rs. 6.17 per litre to Rs. 269.43, while high-speed diesel prices have been reduced by Rs. 10.86 per litre to Rs. 272.77. The revised pricing will be effective August 1.
In light of these modifications, the government’s latest Finance Bill raises the maximum fuel levy to Rs 70 per liter. With this action, the amount collected is expected to increase from Rs 960 billion to Rs 1.28 trillion in the next fiscal year.
