Mobile Services Suspended In Punjab and Balochistan

In preparation for the upcoming by-elections on April 21 and 22, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has stated that Mobile services will be temporarily banned in several areas throughout Punjab and Balochistan.

Like general elections in Pakistan government is taking precautionary measures to ensure safe and fair elections in Pakistan.

The Ministry of Interior is in charge of this action, which aims to protect the election’s security and integrity.
But last time the suspension of the mobile internet services backfired heavily because the reports of general election rigging circulated on the media due to miscommunication in the electoral process.

To preserve public order and guard against any potential misuse of mobile networks during the election period, mobile services have been suspended.

According to the PTA, this suspension is a component of larger security measures being put in place to support a peaceful and equitable voting process.

During the suspension time, residents in the impacted districts are recommended to make appropriate plans and stay informed through alternative forms of communication.

After the by-elections, the PTA has promised to resume operations as soon as it is judged safe and acceptable.
