To improve transportation infrastructure, the Punjab government has approved the inauguration of a Lahore tram service.
The PMLN government shows a keen interest in the development of the Lahore city on a modern basis. A lot of big infrastructure projects were launched in the previous tenures of the Nawaz Sharif-led government.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif authorized the project during a recent visit to the Lahore Development Authority’s (LDA) headquarters.
Lahore, Pakistan’s cultural hub, is preparing to start its first tram service.
This ambitious project, just approved by the Punjab government, is expected to transform urban transportation in the metropolis. Lahore’s tram service is not only a landmark for the city but also the first of its sort in Pakistan.

While the precise launch date is unknown, officials are dedicated to accelerating the project so that citizens may benefit as soon as possible.

The tram’s 11-kilometer route will connect significant locations such as Liberty, Main Market, Mini Market, and Hali Road.
Stops will be carefully located every 1 to 1.5 kilometers to ensure passengers’ accessibility and convenience. Inspired by successful tram systems in Finland and China, the Lahore tram service offers a contemporary and comfortable travel experience.
