Commissioner Zaid bin Maqsood has declared a rain emergency in Lahore due to record-breaking rainfall.
To prevent damage from the heavy rain, all offices and schools have been closed. The public is advised to avoid traveling unless absolutely necessary.
Commissioner Zaid bin Maqsood also visited the WASA head office and received a detailed briefing on drainage operations from MD Ghufran Ahmed.

According to the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA), rainfall measurements in various areas of Lahore were as follows:
- Airport: 353 mm
- Head Office Wasa, Gulberg: 201 mm
- Lakshmi Chowk: 211 mm
- Upper Mall: 194 mm
- Mughalpura SDO Office: 202 mm
- Tajpura SDO Office: 240 mm
- Nishter Town Director Office: 287 mm
- Chowk Nakhuda: 231 mm
- Pani Wala Talab: 299 mm
- Farrukhabad: 250 mm
- Gulshan-e-Ravi: 220 mm
- Iqbal Town SDO Office: 256 mm
- Samnabad SDO Office: 220 mm
- Johar Town SDO Office: 270 mm
- Qurtaba Chowk: 217 mm
