Islamabad Announces Revised New School Timings Amid a Heatwave

The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has announced new timetable schedules for educational institutions in Islamabad.

As the conclusion of the summer holidays approaches the students wait for the school timetable schedule, So FDE announces the revised timetable for the opening and closing of schools.

The FDE said on Monday that the revised times will take effect on August 5, when the institutes reopen after their summer holiday.

Earlier in Islamabad due to the scorching heat, the Federal Ministry of Education on Sunday extended summer holidays in Islamabad schools and institutions till August 4.

The news of the extension of summer holidays provided relief to the parents and students from the effects of the heat wave in the present day.

“Due to the intense hot and humid weather in the district Federal Capital, it has been decided to extend summer vacation in ICT schools/colleges till August 4, 2024,” according to a release. The government is looking closely with regards to educational institutions opening and the health of students.

It is worth noting that the provincial administrations of Sindh and Balochistan have also declared a prolongation of the summer holiday. Educational institutes in both provinces will resume on August 15.

Following the announcements from Islamabad, Sindh, and Balochistan, students in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab are waiting for similar news. However, government officials have not provided any updates in this regard.
