The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to block mobile SIM cards and phones belonging to taxpayers who have not submitted their taxes.
The government of Pakistan is taking radical steps to improve the tax system of Pakistan and trying to engage as many taxpayers as possible under the income tax network.
Over 500,000 people have been identified as having failed to file their tax forms.

The FBR has asked the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and mobile providers to carry out this step.
These conditions are implemented under the guidance of the IMF to increase tax revenue. By completing these conditions of IMF Pakistan will be able to secure another loan to carry out its foreign debt payments.
Individuals on the list are required to pay income tax but have yet to do so. Their services can be reactivated if they pay their unpaid taxes.
