Now the population of Pakistan is suffering from higher rates of inflation and nowadays the news of any relief for the people is few and far in recent years.
Customers would be relieved to learn that power bills will drop by Rs 4.12 per unit in May, a substantial decrease from March.
The news is quite refreshing and welcoming for the inflation hit people.
A petition that was filed with the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) to reduce the fuel cost adjustment from Rs 4.92 per unit in April to Rs 2.94 per unit in May is what led to this development.
This was verified in a statement issued by the Ministry of Power Division on Tuesday. The announcement also emphasized a prior cut in the electricity rate for April, when rates were reduced from Rs 7.6 per unit in March to Rs 4.92 per unit.
So at last the people of Pakistan will have some kind of relief from the recent waves of inflation.
