Affordable Solar Panels in Pakistan: How Much Does Solar Panel Installation Cost in Pakistan?

The ongoing condition of Pakistan is getting worse day by day and living hood in Pakistan is getting very difficult for the common population due to the rising levels of inflation.

The latest IMF agreement has more strict conditions in it and now the government is making a move to burden the populace with taxes.

Pakistanis are adopting solar power systems at a quick pace for a number of strong reasons. Due to the sharp increase in electricity rates (which are now above Rs. 70 per unit!) and the sharp decline in the cost of solar panels, consumers in the residential, commercial, industrial, and agricultural sectors are seriously considering making the switch.

Due to an agreement with the IMF, consumers are now fully responsible for the costs associated with producing energy, which has resulted in a significant increase in the price per unit.

The cost of solar panels has dropped dramatically as a result of an increase in supply from China and other countries across the world.

How Much Does Solar Panel Installation Cost in Pakistan?

  • 1.5 kW System: This year, the cost of a system that is perfect for powering four fans, a TV, a refrigerator, and eight LED lights is about Rs. 155,000 instead of Rs. 200,000.
  • The largest price reduction has been observed for solar panels (2 x 580 watts), which went from Rs. 109,000 to Rs. 48,000.
  • Due to scarcity, however, the price of batteries has increased; a 185-ampere battery currently costs Rs. 43,000, an increase of Rs. 8,000.
  • The cost of an inverter has also gone up by Rs. 10,000, to Rs. 45,000.
  • The expense of labor and wiring adds another Rs. 20,000 to the total.

NEPRA reports that by June 2023, home customers accounted for a sizable share (66%) of the net-metered electricity sold to the government. By June 2024, experts project that solar power would contribute even more to Pakistan’s overall energy production.
